Kyle Alperstein is a student at Shenandoah Conservatory (’21) seeking a Bachelor of Music in music education and a Performance Certificate in cello. Kyle studies under world-renowned cellist Julian Schwarz and is a member of the Shenandoah Conservatory Symphony Orchestra and chamber music program. As an advocate for teaching string instruments and string pedagogy, Kyle co-founded Shenandoah’s student chapter of the American String Teachers Association and currently serves as its vice president. In addition, Kyle also founded and directs the Shenandoah Conservatory Cello Ensemble. Kyle believes in a student-centered style of teaching, recognizing that all students have their own unique, individual learning styles.
